So I have to admit, I am 100% an overwhelmingly passionate coffee lover... but, there is still something about having matcha first thing in the morning that makes the day a bit more magical. Especially when it’s blended with coconut collagen cream and a little he shou wu (basically, a double dose of blood boosting antioxidants in the form of peptides and wild-crafted mushrooms...to support healthy skin, strong hair & nails, and circulation). Plus, I didn’t have a green smoothie for breakfast, but this is “kind of” almost the same thing, right? Actually, I think it’s better. Much better.
Morning Matcha, with Coconut Collagen Cream
Here's what you'll need:
- 1 cup hot water, plus a little more, if needed
- 1/2 cup dairy free milk
- 1 tsp. Ippodo Matcha (I used Horai-No-Mukashi... it's balanced, but still has a touch of umami)
- 1 serving Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen Creamer
- 1/4 tsp. Roots and Bones He Shou Wu
Here's what you do:
Bring your water to a rolling boil on the stove or in an electric water heater. Allow it to cool down for 1-2 minutes, and simultaneously warm up you nut milk in a small pan. Add your ingredients to high-powered blender, and blend until until combined and frothy (about 1-2 minutes)! Pour into a small ceramic bowl or your favorite mug, add a pinch of cinnamon on top if you'd like, sip, and enjoy!
